Introduction:
Lesson - Matt 14:13-21, John 6:1-14 When Jesus learned that John the Baptist had been killed, he rowed of to a quiet place so that he could be alone. But people heard that he was there and came from great distances to see him. The sick came to be cured, and the lame and the blind. Jesus’ heart was full of pity for these people, and he went among them, healing and teaching the whole day. The sun began to go down, and night was falling. |

The apostles
took Jesus aside. “It is getting late,” they said. “You had better send
the people to a nearby town to find something to eat. They are hungry, and
there is no place to buy food here.” “There is no
need to send them away,” Jesus said. “Share your food with
them.” “ But we have
only five loaves and two fishes for the twelve of us,” they
protested. “ Bring the
food to me, “ Jesus said. He took the five loaves of bread and two fishes
and looked up to heaven. Breaking the loaves, he blessed the food and told
the apostles to hand it out to the people sitting on the
grass. There were
about five thousand men, with women and children, gathered on the shore
that day, and each one had plenty to eat. And when the apostles picked up
the leftovers, there were twelve large baskets
full. |

the result. 2. Give a special snack made
of typical food that Jesus and the people at His time could had eaten.
Example: figs, yeast craquers, sardines, goat cheese,
olives.
