1995 HSA-UWC National Sunday School Curriculum Outline

Philosophical Objectives of a Unificationist Sunday School

1. To enable the students to learn, experience, and connect to the heart of God.

Using True Father's life example and Biblical stories, to teach about the heart of God through various central figures and relating it to each child's life and experience.

2. To teach the law of resemblance.

Teaching this principle from the viewpoint that a child is to grouw to become like their parent, draw in on students own sentiments regarding this sensitive and deep relationship of parent and child, and how it relates to their own relationship with God as the original Parent.

~ Who am I ?

~To whom do I belong ?

~ The Three Blessings.

With the above understanding a child can develop a sense of belonging, a sense of value and purpose as a child of God.

3. Family revival identity.

Expanding on the previous principle that a child is to resemble the heart and standard of his parents or God, by more directly resembling the example of his own parents.  Therefore, the family is to exist as a unit to educate and nurture the spiritual growth and development of each family member beyond the domain of Sunday School setting. Sunday school would then encourage the entire family to be a source of spiritual life that can uphold God-centered family values and traditions.

4. To develop an understanding of Divine Principle, Church traditions, and True Parent's life.

A very important foundation that is absolutely necessary to know how to properly conduct oneself and develop as a true inheritor of heavenly tradition and to stand as a true representative of God and True Parents.

5. To help the students develop a clear relationship with God and be able to relate to the world.

Developing proper vertical and horizontal relationships with the understanding of a real and substantial relationship with God and knowing how to express that to others, how to treat others and the world.

6. To help the students develop the tools they require to live as sons and daughters of God.

* An Active life of Faith

* Witnessing & fundraising

* Living for the sake of others

On the foundation of personal spiritual grouth, recognizing the responsibility and way to follow True Father's example of loving others as part of God's eternal family and embracing them in that way.

7. Prepare the students to receive the Blessing

These objectives stand as a Tribal Messiah Sunday School program that can pull in people from the whole neighborhood and community. It accepts that everyone is a son or daughter of God, and it acts as an inclusive and embracing body. These objectives stand as a guiding program, an engine to push forward by clearly knowing what goals are to be achieved, therefore providing the means to evaluate the effectiveness of teaching methods and to make adjustments where needed.
